Managing a Law Firm in the Age of Remote Work

by Carly Wilson / September 4, 2020

What is the key to successfully managing a law firm in the age of remote work, especially during COVID-19? Technology! Predictability is a thing of the past, and we have all learned to pivot quickly. It's been more than six months now in this global pandemic with no concrete idea of when (or if) certain parts of our life will return to what we once knew. Every state is in a different stage and it's nearly impossible to predict what's coming next. But what we can be certain of is that law firms need technology to run successfully, and technology is key to managing your law firm in the age of remote work.

Of course, for some firms, the technology adoption driven by the pandemic was not one of choice, but rather, of necessity. But I would argue that technology adoption will no doubt continue to rise as a result of the unpredictability caused by COVID-19. The increase use of technology is a positive trend. Investments in legal technology are investments in the future, and will ultimately save law firms time and money.

As a result of remote work, many firms are increasingly relying on cloud-based technology that makes remote work possible and ensures that firms continue to be both functional and profitable. This article discusses all the benefits and key advantages of cloud technology.
